Adult Day Program

The Adult Day Program (ADP) provides non-medical care to persons 18 years of age and older who need personal care services, supervision and assistance with daily living activities on less than a 24 hour basis.  Meals, entertainment and activities are provided.  ADP is open Monday through Friday, except holidays.  Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Adult Day Health Care

Adult Day Health Care (ADHC) is a community-based program that provides care, transportation, social and recreational activities, physical, occupational and speech therapies, a noon hot meal, therapeutic groups and family support.  Some support is available for Alzheimer’s participants to help meet the needs of unpaid caregivers and provide a meaningful experience for persons with dementia. The Alzheimer’s Support Group meets each month for caregivers. Any adult eighteen years of age or older whose health problems are such that support services are needed to maintain independence is eligible to enroll.  ADHC is open Monday through Friday, except holidays.  Hours are 3:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Foster Grandparents & Senior Companions

These programs offer seniors on a limited income an opportunity to assist children or other senior citizens.  Participants are screened, trained, placed at a volunteer station and, while serving, receive a small stipend for each hour of service and mileage reimbursement which is not taxed or considered income in order to qualify for any other senior programs.  Foster Grandparents spend up to 20 hours a week working with at risk children in various school settings, while Senior Companions assist frail elderly in their homes.

Multipurpose Senior Services Program

Multipurpose Senior Services Program (MSSP) is a Medi-Cal program, funded through the Department of Health and Human Services in Washington, D.C. and the Department of Health Services in the State of California.  MSSP's goal is to help the frail elderly live an independent life of dignity at home by delaying or preventing institutional placement.  the MSSP serves Shasta, Lassen, Trinity, and Siskiyou counties.

Retired and Senior Volunteer Program

The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) provides opportunities for people 55 and over to make a difference in their community through volunteer service. RSVP volunteers contribute anywhere from a few to over forty hours a week, serving through schools, day care centers, police departments, hospitals and other nonprofit and public organizations to help meet critical community needs. RSVP offers maximum flexibility and choice to its volunteers. RSVP matches the personal interests and skills of older Americans with opportunities to help solve community problems and offers supplemental insurance while on duty, and on-the-job training from the agency or organization where volunteers are placed.
